How We Work

Our Methodology

Information, Not Advice

Every programme covers general information and organisational methods only. We never interpret individual entitlements, and we make this boundary clear at the start of each engagement.

Published Sources

All references to forms, conventions, and documentation requirements draw from publicly available Malaysian government and institutional publications. We cite sources rather than opinion.

Tangible Outputs

Each programme produces something the participant keeps — an index sheet, a completed records file, or a set of communication templates. The value does not evaporate when the session ends.

Retirement Paperwork Orientation Session

Programme 1

Retirement Paperwork Orientation Session

A three-hour group session that walks through the kinds of documents a household accumulates across a working life, how they are usually filed, and where the gaps commonly appear. Written for people approaching retirement and for adult children helping a parent organise papers. Groups are kept to twelve participants.

What is included

  • Printed records index sheet
  • Walkthrough of publicly available forms and where they are published
  • Glossary of terms that appear on statements
  • Written list of questions worth putting to a qualified professional

How the session runs

  1. 1Introduction to the landscape of retirement documents — what households typically accumulate and where
  2. 2Walk through of common document types with the records index sheet
  3. 3Glossary review — terminology found on EPF statements and employer letters
  4. 4Group Q&A and distribution of the professional questions list

Programme 2

Household Records Organisation Programme

A six-week structured programme in which a household builds its own retirement records file, supported by weekly small-group sessions and a written workbook. Suited to families managing paperwork across several members, or to people who have inherited a filing cabinet and do not know where to begin. Two hours weekly plus independent work.

What is included

  • Written workbook (yours to keep)
  • Digitisation guidance for scanning and naming files
  • Records retention chart drawn from published sources
  • Session on communicating with institutions in writing
  • Closing review of completed index

Six-week structure

  1. 1Week 1 — Mapping what you have: a first pass through the filing cabinet by decade
  2. 2Week 2 — Employment records: what to look for, what to keep, what may be missing
  3. 3Week 3 — Pension and EPF documentation: reading statements and understanding nominee records
  4. 4Week 4 — Property, insurance, and related papers: the documents that sit outside employer files
  5. 5Week 5 — Digitisation and storage: practical methods for scanning, naming, and backing up
  6. 6Week 6 — Review and closing: completed index check, professional questions list, next steps
